Bible Study Method or How To Study the Bible for Yourself (Part 2)

Continuing on in this course the student will learn the inductive method of studying the Bible, that is: Observation, Interpretation, Application and Communication. All sound Bible doctrine and teaching depends upon this method. All the various types of Bible study, such as, character, historical, theological, topical, or book studies depend upon the inductive method to achieve proper understanding and correct interpretation. Various Bible study resource tools will be introduced and explained. The goal of this course is to enable each student to study the Bible for themselves. There will be opportunity to practice what is taught through practical assignments and a semester project.
A Simple Look at the Ancient Song Book ~ Psalms

Although it is necessary in a Bible Institute setting to study the book in a technical manner, the emphasis will be on meditation and application for the Psalms studied. The Psalms are full of prophecy and other doctrines which give believers comfort and hope.
We will consider the poetry of the Hebrew people, as well as the variety of genres and the events that sparked the writing of the Psalms. Ultimately, we need to understand their purpose was to be sung in worship to our Creator and God.
